Client Testimonials

Choosing Brian Laxton to represent me in my Character and Fitness hearings was a great decision and was instrumental in my successful petition to become a licensed attorney.  Brian considered my legal position, was well versed in the facts of my case, was my strong advocate in front of the District and State Bar committees, and was mindful of keeping my costs low.  I could not have asked for anything more.  Thanks again Brian.”

The law firm of Mertens, Laxton and Clement, PLLC came highly recommended when I encountered an issue in the Character and Fitness process during my admission to the State Bar of Michigan.  I was told by several highly respected lawyers that Brian Laxton was the top lawyer in the area dealing with ethical issues.  From the first moment I spoke with Mr. Laxton, I felt that I was more than an hourly rate and had my problem handled with the utmost promptness, professionalism and understanding.  It was a very stressful and anxious time for me, so it was important to know that I was a priority on someone else’s schedule.  My situation was resolved quickly and favorably.  Looking back, I am extremely pleased I chose this law firm to assist me in my State Bar of Michigan admission process and am now a fellow member of the Bar myself.”
